Default SPAM levels dropped? - 14/07/2007, 10:39 PM

Hi

I noticed SPAM levels dropped on two of my accounts sometime last week. I don't have SpamAssasin or any other anti-spam measures running on those accounts.

Anyone else noticed this? Is there something running on the server that I don't know about?

Don't get me wrong - this is a good thing, but I'm just concerned about emails not getting through and no whitelist ability etc.

Thanks

Roki

P.S. Tried Scanner-X on another account and so far it looks like the business.

Hi,

Nothing has changed in terms of the way spam is processed. cPanel have had a new update to update Spam Assassin which would have included the latest ruleset.

This maybe why - or could just be a drop in spam traffic. We see this from time to time.

Matt

Yeah I spotted the change in SpamAssasin config screen and that definitely appears to be working better now, but it isn't actually enabled on these domains!

Like you say - might just be some spam servers have been shut down. We noticed a big jump up a few months ago so maybe this is things just settling back down to a more "normal" level.

Thanks anyway.

Roki
