I have bought the reseller server - XR3 and want to transfer my domain over. I don't have the EPP key and have not had to use that last time I transfered a domain to a new server.

I need to get the DNS to point to the new server but first I want to get my domain on the server and upload all my pages.

Is there something I am missing to do this with relative ease? Or will I need to get hold of the EPP key?

Hi andham2000,

If the domain is a gLTD (.com .net .org .info .biz), you'll need the EPP key from the current registrar. This rule is fairly new and is required by all domain registrars.

However, .uk domains do not require this key.

You can just setup the domain without transferring at this time, once you have setup the account, update the DNS so the site points to us and then (if you want) proceed with the transfer.

I am still confused as to how I set up the domain? I still need the EPP key I take it?

A different domain, although I will also be using the one I signed up with.

I want to add a .com domain to the server and I will also be adding some more sites in due course.

Hi,

For now - you just need to change the nameservers on the domain to match your welcome email.

You'll need to make a package within WHM and downgrade your 'master' domain to this package as currently that domain is assigned all your disk space and bandwidth.

Once complete, then add the new domain and assign it the package also (or make another package).

You'll then have that domain hosted on your account and then can update the DNS when you are ready to have it hosted with us.
