Exclamation Moving domains to xilo :o( - 19/03/2007, 5:47 PM

I'm very disillusioned!

Two weeks ago I initiated moving some domains to xilo, but they're still showing the old website content. Via the cp I've uploaded a test file, but nothing is showing on the web, apart from page not found.

I'm fumbling around in the dark as I'm not sure how to set up my cp (I have a reseller package) for moving domains in to it.

From my old hosting companies I've changed the nameservers to point at xilo, I've set up some accounts naming them as per my domains. I've informed the xilo staff and exchanged a few emails where I've asked for more information (no replies yet), but nothing seems to have happened as my calls for help have not been replied to. These emails had ticket numbers on them, but I can't find them in the ticket area of xilo's website. I can find ticket numbers for tickets I've raised, which brings me on to another point.
I raised two support tickets about 4 days a go, but see the one has been deleted from the list of tickets without an explanation, and the other is still open, but no answer so far....

I did find a knowledge base information page on domain transfers, but this didn't cover setting up reseller pages.

Is there anyone here who has knowledge of this sites reseller packages and moving domains in to them, if there is, can you help me sort mine out please?

Am I expecting things to happen too quickly, or is this normal? Hopefully when I've sorted the above I'll have no further issues and can then get on and use everything I've paid for.

BTW, I've asked xilo for a price to carry out the above for me, but no reply so far. I thought this would be an easy quick way to achieve a painless transfer of domains.

1. Change your domains name servers to be the same as the XILO ones you were sent in your welcome e-mail

2. Create the domains in your WHM. Miss out the www, allow the username to be created for you.

3. Wait up to 72 hours for the new nameserver settings on your domain to propogate around the internet, remember to delete your browser cache to ensure you see you page in the new location.

4. If you want your site to be on xilo servers, you need to re-upload your files via ftp.

Not done yet, just uploaded more test files, but can't view them via my domain name, as its still showing the original content, of which has a forum which I can post, edit and delete! If I view the new server via the IP address, I can view the new content.

Please post the domain name you are trying to use with your xilo account please and state the server you are on.

I've been out today, and had the use of some pc's which have never been used to view my sites (so no cache issues). I can confirm they are still forwarding to my old hosts server.

With regards to domains etc. I'll send you a pm with them.

Can't find a pm button. When I have more time, I'll come back and search further.

PMs are not enabled for users of the forum. It is safe to post the domain and the server you are on here, however if you do not wish to do this just post the domain and I can look up which server you are on using the username you have provided in your profile.

One of the domains is xxxx.xx.xx (should display a basic page, but get 404)
I don't wish to promote the others on an open forum thanks

Ok, I've had a look into this for you. I can see your pages by querying the server directly so you have setup permissions and the files correctly.

Your problem is the nameservers on the domain. Upon doing a whois query I am shown the following nameservers for your domain
Quote:
ns1.thednszone.com
ns2.thednszone.com
These are not the correct nameservers for reseller accounts. You need to change these to:

And then you will be able to use your domain(s) as intended (assuming the other domains you have issues with have the same problems)

Hope this helps you

I don't have time at present to action your advice to see if it works, however I emailed support about dns settings as I encountered a problem with them. That was over a week a go, and never had a reply!
