Smile New user - Transfer of domain - 9/03/2007, 3:12 PM

Hello everyone.

Signed up last night and got account info today. Hoping Xilo are better than are current hosting provider!

Anyway, I have changed the DNS name servers to point to Xilo and am now waiting for the DNS updates.

What I was wondering is when the domain will appear in the list on my account. (XS3 package) Will this happen once Xilo's DNS updates? If there anything else I have to do?

As an aside, is there anyway to access the Control panel via port 80 for instance. I can't access it from work as the port is blocked!

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian,

Is the domain you have updated DNS wise an additional domain to the one you signed up with?

If so, you need to add this to the control panel (cp.xilo.net) youself. Just click the ADD button on the bottom of the domain list page

As soon as you add it, it is entered into our DNS and as such, will become live.

Due to the software we use, theres no way to get the control on port 80. Port 8080 may work (H-SPHERE) but it is not secure.

Hi Matt,

Wow, quick reply! Thanks.

Yes, the domain is the one that was used to sign up with so I guess it will appear when it enters your DNS as you say. I just wanted to check this was the case!

That's good about the port 8080. At least I can access it from work if need be.

Ian
