By charge VAT under the threshold I actually meant register and then charge VAT under the threshold - which you can do. I should have been more specific.

Likewise a company is able to be VAT registered and not charge its customers the VAT so long as the required amount is still passed to the government. This is routinely done in "VAT free" offers and the like.

There is always the legal option of registering a group of Ltd companies like....

Xilo Reseller Ltd
Xilo Dedicated Ltd
Xilo Domains Ltd

to keep under the VAT wire.... after all it's still 17.5% of your profits....

The very merry merry go-round
...and prices (I would guess) would just jump 17.5% - which we would pay (then claim), you would charge (and collect) then pay + that sweetener from your profits to Her M's Revenue & Customs

Very true Simon.

I am also looking at re-registering the company in the Isle of Man as this has excellent savings associated with doing so

Great idea, is the weather any better over there?

The Caymens always sounded good to me but here is a handy list if anyone is thinking such thoughts: List of Tax Havens

I still prefer the IOM.. Nearer and still classed like much of the UK.

I know our main transit supplier provides UK services but is registered in the IOM.

It's was sunny last week but the journey back was horrible. Thought I was going to end up swimming back
