i have the resselers account with xilo and some of my clients are complaining that the chat room feature is not working, the java version just complains about some debug issues and the one were you use the form to eneter your nickname is not working after you enter your name. Any resons why this is happeing and how can this be solved. i thank you in advance for your replies.

The Melange chat server is disabled for all users (and resellers) as far as I can see. This is highly likely to be for security reasons as it is difficult to administer these rooms properly for all clients and involves opening an additional incoming port in the servers firewall.

If you want to stem your client complaints I would suggest setting up a feature list other than default for them and disabling the chatroom in that list. Then simply inform them that its not a service you offer and if they want a chat room they should install their own (MySQL based) version.

Hi,

As Kieran says - we do not activate the Melange chat server.

As it (from memory) is based upon the IRC protocol - we do not want our servers targetted in anyway whatsoever.

I would suggest looking at some possible PHP based chat rooms at HotScripts.
