I've just installed phpadsnew (phpadsnews)

After installing, no matter what I Chmod the config.inc.php file to, the script still tells me it is unlocked and allows me to change settings in that file

Is this due to the user access that PHP is running under, a problem with the script, or a problem with file attributes

What have you tried to chmod the file to?

Started with 644
then 600
then 400
then 000

all give the same issue

Iain,

Can you try 400 again and then either post the full location to the file or raise a ticket so I can see if the permissions were accepted.
