setting Error 404 (redirect on "not found") results in 403 "forbidden" access being issued

deleting Error 404 does not clear 403's and site becomes inaccessible

either apache needs a restart or golf needs a good booting

Using master ftp username/pasword for your account, check the permissions of the place you were trying to redirect users to in the event of a 404; is the page viewable (chmod 644 for a file, any directory its in chmod 755), also if you have removed the 404 redirect, check the contents of any .htaccess files for contents that may still pertain to the 404 redirect, remove the line(s) and save and upload the file. That *should* have sorted it out. If it hasn't then clearly something is amis somewhere with apache as you mention above.

I've now had a ticket response, waiting for psoft now.

A day later and nothing heard, no update, and Xilo busy with staff training so no calls being taken. Seems I must be the only one suffering this problem, which begs the question, why can't it be resolved by Xilo?

The fault is with the psoft H-Sphere control panel. As you may know, this is a complex java based application and we do not want to go changing settings that could affect something elsewhere.

We have already raised a case with Psoft and I am working on this issue for you now as already detailed in your ticket earlier.

However, I am still awaiting an update as your ticket did not include full information as requested by the online form. Once I have this confirmed, I will be able to continue investigating.
