| User ![]() Posts: 7 Join Date: May 2006 Location: orleans | I'm in the process of installing Joomla on my web space but it is warning me that pretty much all of my folders don't have write permissions on them. I have read the post about you installing PHPsuexec where you state there will be problems for Joomla, but I don't think I'm enough of an expert to really understand why and what can be done about it. The post says that there is a script in cPanel that can be used for permissions, where abouts is this as I cannot find it? The post also mentions the file "php.ini", which I am familiar with when working on localhost, but do not have access to it on your servers. Is this an additional php.ini file or something I do not have permission to access? My domain is moteintheeye if that helps / is needed. Thank you in advance for your help. Simon Norris |

Could you ensure the username listed in your forum profile is correct so that I can check which server you are on ![]() Matt Internet Hosting and Online Services w: http://www.xilo.net/ h: http://my.xilo.net/ t: +44 (0) 845 034 6444 f: +44 (0) 845 034 6555 |

| User ![]() Posts: 7 Join Date: May 2006 Location: orleans | I'm a bit lost as to what will be my user name. I have an ftp user name and a domain user name. Are either of these correct? Where will I have entered my user name otherwise and if I don't have a record of it, how do I retrieve it? What I gave when registering was my Account Number. Can you find my user name from that? Thank you. Simon |

| Techie & Moderator ![]() Posts: 753 Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Swindon, UK | Your username will be the username that you use to access the cpanel of the account you are having problems with. For example, when I access one of my domains kieranoshea.com I have a username of "kieran" for that cpanel. You can view the username for your domain (if its your main domain) if you login to MyXilo with your e-mail address and clicking on "account details" You can then add this username to your forum profile by clicking User CP at the top of the forum, and clicking Edit Profile and filling in Additional Information at the bottom. Hope this helps ![]() |

| XILO Staff ![]() Posts: 694 Join Date: Nov 2005 | Hi Simon, As Kieran has said, the username you have to enter in your forum profile is the one that you may login to your hosting control panel with. You have entered a username starting "WHUK" in your forum profile which is not an account name on our system. If you need any help with this, feel free to give us a quick call. | User ![]() Posts: 7 Join Date: May 2006 Location: orleans | I've changed my user name to match my control panel user name. Does it all match up? If so, does this help with the initial queiry? If not I'll give you a call after the weekend. Thanks for your help so far. Simon |
