Default mySQL - 03/10/2005, 12:05 PM

Hi. Im trying to install a php script on one of my accounts on my reseller hosting but when i tell it what the db name is etc it just says it doesnt exist ? is there anything i need to do ?

Hi Wayne,

You need to firstly create the database from the "MySQL" icon in cPanel.

Once you have done this and created a user with the granted permissions (ALL is good to start with), you may need to edit a config file that your script comes with and include the database and user information.

These are normally prefixed with your username. Such as;

username_databasename for the database

and

username_databaseusername for the database username

Hi Tom. If you take a look at www.markopenshaw.co.uk/install/install.php

the db i have created is ****, username **** and password dreamer it still says it cannot connect. Is everything right there ?

Have you granted "ALL" permissions for that user against the database you created?

sorted it, didnt realise i had to give the permissions i thought the tick meant it already had em.
