Exclamation Forum Alterations - 11/06/2008, 7:28 PM

Hello everyone.

I'll be re-arranging the forums around this evening between 11pm-1am and just fixing a few cosmetic issues.

There will be no outage on the forum but please be aware that you may note issues with images and CSS (colours, textual content etc) during this time.

I will start doing some work on the database now however to prep for this work this evening. This will also not be service affecting.

Apologies for the short notice.

Regards
Chris

Why do we need the top 3 forums if we have the Xilo blog which covers those? Also, what happened to the security forum? (although I admit I hadn't posted in there in a while )

Some customers don't check the blog (and have not signed up for email notices) but do check the forums.

Some customers don't check the forum but do check the blog and/or have email notifications.

When we changed from PHP4 to PHP5 as default, we received emails to say they did not receive notice. We want to make sure that we address and inform all customers by every possible method we have.

I think I was one of those people.

I wondered why these sorts of notices were put on your blog/forums when everyone who signed up (with the H-Sphere account, at least) had a "postmaster" email address that could be used to inform people.

I suppose not everyone would check their email, but you could at least be sure that everyone had an email address that you could post updates to. And if they didn't read them, then that was their own fault.
