Default Where's my backup icon? Anyone know? - 04/06/2008, 12:47 PM

Can anyone help, I'm right confused. Documentation for cPanel seems to suggest I should have a backup option in the File section of the users' control panel but I don't.
Is there another way to do a complete site backup with databases or am i missing something?

Hi stash,

We don't actually use/offer the cPanel backup icon as we have our own, far superior system.

All customers bar those on Charlie (at present) can access this restore tool from the R1Soft CDP backup icon in cPanel.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the swift reply but I'm afraid I don't have that icon either, is there a way I can install it? I'm on kilo.

Thanks,

Stash

Stash,

Please raise a ticket - we can then look into that for you. Include your login credentials for the cPanel account in question.

Under "Files" in cPanel I have two icons "Backups" and "Backup Wizard" are those the standard cPanel backup/s?

So should I also have the "R1Soft CDP" backup icon, which I seem to also be missing?

John

John,

Have you gotten both icons back now? Seems the latest cPanel update knocked out a few things (backup options and Fantastico)

Regards
Chris

Same here.

A while ago I am sure I saw an icon which allowed you to restore backups from certain times of the day which was advanced. Is this what this mysterious R1soft button does?

However I couldn't find it again and put it down to the fact I must have been dreaming and old age.

No, certain servers did have that feature before so you weren't dreaming it. There have been a few problems lately which have resulted in some icons disappearing. To the best of my knowledge this is a known issue on most servers and is being worked on.

Are we going to be getting this icon back in the future?
