Hi all,

Someone I know has recently bought some webspace with Xilo and is transferring their existing domain name from BT to Xilo as well. They have only done this today, but when browsing to their website, all that appears is some kind of holding page where their website used to be.

I know it takes a couple of days before the transfer takes effect, but I was just wondering if this is normal. You can check the Whois info here.

You'll notice that the Registrar is now Xilo, however the nameservers do not yet point to the Xilo nameservers. Would this be why their website is not showing correctly at the moment?

I assume they have actually changed the nameservers on their BT control panel to point to the Xilo nameservers, but I don't know that for sure. If not, then that would be the problem, but if they have then I assume it's just a temporary thing until the migration is fully complete?

Looks like BT only released the domain this morning. The nameserver change at BT did not get processed so all that needs to happen is that your friend(?) should login to My XILO and update the nameservers on his account.

Once done, the change will be immediate but may take upto 24 hours to fully propagate on the internet.

OK thanks for the reply. He did only start the transfer thing this morning, but he was confused as to why it didn't point to his old website up until the point that the propogation was complete. I guess he hadn't done everything he needed to. I'll let him know, thanks.

Just to check, the nameservers are XS4, XS5 and XS6 aren't they? And not Xs1, XS2 and XS3...
