Moving to the alternative port works - thanks!
However, since making the change, I now get these errors sent back to Outlook on a regular basis when I attempt to send email.
"sorry, that domain isn't allowed to be relayed thru this MTA (#5.7.1)" (the domain varies).
I can get round it by going into the account properties in Outlook & clicking the "Test Account Settings" button. This seems to clear the problem and then I can send.
Any ideas why this is occurring?
One other Q - is there a limit on the number of recipients of an email?
