Default Domain Transfer? - 28/12/2005, 1:04 PM

I will eventually be signing up for a reseller account with you. I already have a domain name registered somewhere else. Can I just transfer the domain over to you now (as my understanding is this can take a few days) so when I am ready to sign up, the domain is already with you. Or......do I have to do the transfer at the time of signing up only?

Also, is it best for me just to repoint to Xilo or do the full transfer?

Hi Dvotee,

Sorry for the delayed reply.

You can request the transfer of domain when you first join us or slightly down the line. Either way the domain will work with us

If you want to just point it at our servers at first - simply just change the nameservers to the ones in the welcome email.

Please let me know if I can help further.

Matt

Just one more question, I'm new to this as I've mentioned before and am having a real problem with browser compatability. Is there somewhere I can look to get advice as I can't find anything. Probably a real dumb question I know but guess we all have to learn and I can't get this right.

A good place to find advice on making websites standards-compliant (and hence, inter-browser compatible) is the W3C (http://www.w3.org/ and http://www.w3schools.com/). Reading it all can get pretty tedious, but there is lots of information which should help you, as well as a validator for checking your websites (http://validator.w3.org/).
