I have been looking into your dedicated server options due to the fact that I run a small online internet radio station (http://www.clubbedout.co.uk)

With our current concurrent listener usage and peaks a package with 1000+GB of traffic would easily cope with our streaming requirements.

What I wanted to know is do you allow streaming from your servers?

Yes - Streaming is completely allowed.

We have a few customers that use their servers for streaming media.

Excellent news. What's the deal with setting up the server then, after the initial set up fee would I have to pay on a month by month basis or do you require a few months advance payment?

Also how would I go about setting up the software on the machine itself?

Regarding payment - that is correct. You pay the setup fee + 1st month when you signup and then everymonth thereafter.

Each server comes with a preloaded OS. Either Windows or Linux.
With each OS you get an option on a certain control panel, be it Ensim, Helm, Cpanel, Hsphere. You dont have to take these but they will help you manage your server.

If you are wanting to do ShoutCast hosting - we would recommend getting a Linux machine and then installing the sc_serv server once up and running.

Thats exactly what I was wanting to do, set up a Shoutcast server as at the moment I am purchasing listener slots, doing it this way is far more cost effective and also gives me a much greater scope for improving the quality of the streams that we are offering.

Is it possible to up the bandwidth limits after purchasing a dedicated server package from you?

At the moment this package most suits our requirements;

Celeron 2.4Ghz Processor
60GB Disk 512MB RAM
1000GB Bandwidth

But depending on growth of the site we may want to revisit and up that bandwidth limit.

Of course. We offer different rates for where the server is located. However, extra bandwidth can be purchased as needed. You are not limited to the 1000GB that comes with the server - overages are also billed at a competitive rate.

Sorry about this, but one final question.

I have a current hosting package for the website separate from the streams, which gives us a MySQL database, PHP etc... Presumably I would be able to transfer my domains and entire website across fairly easily? After all it makes sense to host it all on the one server and there is also a question of FTP as well, we would need to run a FTP site from the server as well.

We currently have http://www.clubbedout.co.uk and http://www.clubbedout-radio.co.uk domains registered, would we incur any costs in transferring these over as well.

As we are a non-profit keeping our costs down to a bare minimum is key, and this looks like a perfect solution.

If you choose something like Cpanel for Linux - it comes with all you need (PHP, MySQL, FTP).

Also - to move the domains to us it is free.

I have tried to look up more information on cpanel here http://www.xilo.net/dedicated/?pid=cpanel but the page is blank.

Would you be able to provide me with some more details and let me know of any additional cost to utilise it.
