Default Watching A Domain That's About To Expire - 6/02/2008, 2:34 PM

Hi all,

I was just wondering whether Xilo offer to keep an eye on domain names for their customers, so that when they become available, Xilo can inform the customer that it has become available, and possibly purchase it for them.

I've had my eye on a domain name for about 18 months now, and when it was first up for renewal last March, it seemed to be automatically renewed. In the year since, the domain owner doesn't seem to have updated their site at all, and so I figured it might become available again this March.

I've tried contacting the domain owner to ask him if he planned on re-using the domain (using the email address given in the WHOIS information) but have not received a reply. If the domain owner updates his email address as often as his website, it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't even use that email address any more, and simply forgot to inform the domain hosts.

Anyway, seeing as Xilo can register domain names for people, I figured there might be way for them to 'snatch up' a domain name as soon as it becomes available. Am I right though?

Thanks all,

- Dom

Hi Dom,

It's not something we offer or will offer unfortunately. Most 'big' companies have near instant catching tools that we simply could not compete with.

A google search may help find a few.. I have used some in the past but only managed to catch one domain that I wanted.

Matt
