Default Best ISP - 17/11/2006, 11:31 AM

I raised a support ticket some time ago No 23854, yes I know you are very busy, and I will wait patiently. The ticket was relating to an email problem I have on the sites I have with Xilo, i.e. I cannot send any, I think I know what the problem is, I am with AOL.<o =""></o>

Therefore I am going to switch to another ISP, which do you think is the best one to connect to?

I'm with Bulldog, 16Mbit very reliable connection and little contention.

I know they have a fairly bad track record on the customer service side of things but the quality of the connection far outweighs this.

I have moved this thread to General Chat though is it is not a Xilo support question

What do you use to send email pop3? Are you sure your outgoing server is set up correctly (u.e using the AOL address?).

Most ISPs are a much of a muchness nowadays unless you are looking for anything in particular like static IP address?

For sending mail issues using your own mailserver addresses with xilo you might find that changing your send port to the one detailed in this knowledge base article allows you to send if you cannot do so on port 25

Do you run SMTP on alternative port? : XILO : Support

This article may help, though as it is with these things, everybody seems to have different experiences with their provider...

I'm with BT on a 8Mb connection, which has been pretty good so far.
