i would like to get a shopping cart for my site.....however i don't trust all these various shopping carts floating around nowadays.......i did try to use paypal's IPN system to make my own shopping cart but all the tutorials i found had either too much information or even sometimes too little information................so the question is what shopping cart do you use.................and is it good enough to recommend.

It all depends on what you are selling to be honest. If you want to sell physical products with a cart system not disimilar to the likes of Amazon etc. then you could do a lot worse than base your site around oscommerce.

If you are selling hosting, domain names etc. then a good free solution is phpCoin and a good paid for solution is modernbill.

i just wanna take bookings for tables on my website......i am comfotable using php and mysql to set the syetm up but i need something that takes the money from the user and if the user decided to cancel then return something back to me...............so would which one would good for this phpcoin or modernbill

I use phpcoin on my site. I find it OK although some people would say there are better packages out there. It is easy to administer. Everyone is waiting for V2 to be released (no date yet) and this will be all singing, all dancing and will be on a par with Modernbill

This one is free which also helps start ups like myself.

*Edit* My site is for hosting though although you can use phpcoin for other things as well
