Awstats

Hi,

I'm just wondering if there is a way to update my Awstats more often? At the moment stats are updated once a day - at around 5:30pm.

My previous host had a nice option at the top of the Awstats pages, which was simply a link titled "Update Now".

Hi Marmite,

A while ago, we did allow this but then found that it was being abused by a small number of customers refreshing their script upto 5 times an hour.

Whilst it may not seem much, awstats does have to trawl through the whole log each time - which in turn uses more CPU.

We'd rather spread the stats over a period of time and adjust this as needed automatically.

We may look into this in future but currently the option will need to remain off.

Hi Matt,

Any chance then that you could update the stats twice a day?

Say for example...

5:30am and 5:30pm?

If you need more regular stats you can download raw access logs from cpanel or using wget. and a cron/scheduled task and analyse them as often as you like with whatever package you like.

Well, it would for awstats, but there are so many more interesting things you can do with logs than just use them with awstats

Yeah for sure, but I check the stats at work so I wouldn't have time for it tbh.

If you really need up-to-the-minute stats you could try adding a 'live' counter like http://statcounter.com/ to your site.

It wouldn't really replace AWSTATS but it is useful supplement if you want to know about your latest visitors!

Another one we use (and love) is BBclone (http://bbclone.de/).

Hi all,

Not been on here for a while, hope everything fine with ya'll

Thought i'd bump this seeing as the threads still here. I tried bbclone but it wasn't really what I was looking for.

A couple of things...

1. Awstats are being updated 30mins later each day, everyday. Yesterdays was updated at 5:30am this morning.

2. If poss, could you include daily uniques into Awstats (Already has for monthly).
