As for your second point I suspect you would be better off asking the developers of awstat, unless it is just a setting in the config file.

Sorry for the delay in getting to you.

We don't control when awstats runs unfortunately, it is simply done as and when it can be by the system over the period of 24 hours automatically.

The config used is default for cPanel and no doubt if we change it - it'll be reverted on upgrade (like most things) which is run nightly.

BBClone is indeed great and I use it on most of my sites.
When I ran the hosting clusters (3 servers in each cluster) for Netserve I designed a seperate logs/stats server which twice a day pulled the logs from the other servers, sorted them and then created webalizer stats (using my heavily modified version of webalizer) to create stats customers could access at log.domain.com (where domain.com is their domain name.
As they were passive round robin clusters we had to do this anyway so we could merge the logs and then split them per domain name.
I had also design prevision for this to be a live system but left before it was applied.
