Default Php5 - 9/03/2006, 3:32 AM

We are planning to introduce PHP5 alongside PHP4 for our shared and reseller packages.

Version 4 would be the default loaded and version 5 would be called via FastCGI using .php5 named files.

So that we can see how many customers would like PHP5 (even if only to play with the new technologies), please vote or add any comments onto this thread.

Thanks

Matt

Have been playing with php5 for a while and it would be great if Xilo supported it.

Is there any way to use a .htaccess file to set the php version to 5 for a given site/directory? This would save having to rename files to .php5 and make them more transportable. Just a thought.

Yes. You will be able to change the .php to run via PHP5 in .htaccess

Just seen this thread, yes I too would be interested in having a play with php5. While all of my scripts only use php4.x and below, I do like the look of some of the new functions in php5 and it would be good to have a tinker

We are now testing this on one server - namely Delta. We'll be posting a new thread soon.
